August 25, 2020Music Career: The perks of being organised musician
11 August 2020
Don't just waste your time waiting for your music career to happen to you – stand up and make this dream come alive. To be a successful musician, you need to get organised and be ready for all future challenges.
Dreams cannot come true by sitting merely behind a keyboard or humming in your isolated rooms. So, get out there in person and get yourself organized. Being organised is the person’s trait that is used to execute assigned or non-assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.
In the case of being a musician, getting organised can bridge the gap between your music and your potential audience if a musician is planning to compose new songs or trying to book a national tour, organisation aids in both the cases.
Benefits of staying organised.
There are two types of planning, short-term planning and long-term planning that brings a substantial contribution to the term ‘organization’. Musicians make music to be closer and to have a real connection with their audience. But this is not the only factor that is accounted for.
Organization is done in the high hopes to see things how we want them in our life. Otherwise, we can say that the organization is not well maintained. Future planning forces you to explore several avenues to be organized in the long run. For example:
If any musician books a national stadium for his or her debut concert assuming it to be rocking but unable to attract a major chunk of the audience for that concert, that planning or management reflects the bad organization of any musician as he or she is not well aware of the basic traits to be organised.
Therefore, in order to be more productive and creative, a real musician, instead of booking a large concert, should try to write engaging songs and make original content to have a huge fan following.
If you are not organized well enough in your life, no matter how big your dreams are, your chances to get the top would be thin and minimal.
The Downside of Unorganisation
If you are unable to handle and manage your music finances, you are less likely to work and sustain in the music industry. And if you do not seek services of potential lawyers in helping you understand the complex contracts you sign with different record label or to make decisions to support a new record on a high-interest credit card, the financial decisions you make now could negatively destroy your music profession for years or even decades to come.
Financial planning in music means making an effort to stay organized when planning rehearsals, shows, and recording time. It is essential that financial mismanagement can be fatal for your career and could hinder you from focusing on your music content.
Venues, bandmates, producers, basically everyone, will not want to work with someone who is consistently late, unprepared, exhausted, or unable to manage for whatever reason.
Excuses will only get you so far, so it is essential to stay organized when planning rehearsals, shows, and recording time. If you are always on time and prepared, people will want to work with you and recommend you in the future. This will also be important for getting your music out there, because the more efficiently you work, the more time you can spend on promotion and reaching out.
In any case, you happen to be an unorganised musician from birth or lack management skills; there is no need to stress out as one should be aware of his strengths and weaknesses.
Thanks
