Sound Quality
I’ve been using the Sony PS-LX310BT turntable for a while now, and the sound quality has been fantastic. My 70s to early 90s record collection sounds great on this turntable. However, there is an occasional jumping of the needle when the bass kicks in, and I had to turn down the subwoofer to minimize the low hum. Nevertheless, it still provides an enjoyable listening experience.
Bluetooth Connectivity
This turntable’s Bluetooth connectivity is brilliant. It connects instantly to all my various Bluetooth speaker devices. Though, it took many attempts to connect it to my Samsung soundbar with a woofer. Placing the turntable right next to the speaker helped with pairing, and now it connects okay (usually).
Setup and Ease of Use
Setting up the Sony PS-LX310BT was a breeze. It took just 15 minutes from unpacking to listening to my favourite vinyl. Connecting the turntable to my Bluetooth devices was a hassle-free experience, and the controls on the turntable are user-friendly.
Build Quality and Design
The turntable feels like a real quality build. It’s lightweight and easy to move from room to room. The dust cover has a slight dark tint, which adds to its clean and modern design. However, the lightweight design can cause the turntable to move accidentally when pushing buttons on the front.
Pros
- Good sound quality for casual listening.
- Easy and quick Bluetooth connectivity to various devices.
- Simple setup and user-friendly controls.
- Fully automatic arm mechanism.
- Compatible with both Bluetooth speakers and headphones.
- Dust cover and gain switch for added convenience.
Cons
- Occasional needle jumping and low hum when bass kicks in.
- Difficulty connecting to certain devices, like the Samsung soundbar and woofer.
- Lightweight design may cause accidental movement when using controls.
- Non-removable audio cables at the back of the unit.
Overall Recommendation
I would highly recommend the Sony PS-LX310BT turntable for those looking to play old records via Bluetooth. It offers a simple, easy-to-use solution with good sound quality and excellent Bluetooth connectivity. While it may not be the best option for high-end audiophiles, it’s a fantastic choice for casual listeners who want a convenient way to enjoy their vinyl collection.
Hope that help you make the best decision.
Thanks,
Tom
