How much does it cost to press 100 vinyl records
Vinyl records are getting more and more popular year after year, and the question “How much does it cost to press 100 vinyl records” keeps popping up all the time.
Since we’re vinyl manufacturers we’ll answer this question and explain our answer.
The important thing to remember is that the price fluctuates pretty much every month, and that’s due to a few factors, which I’ll explain a bit further down in this article.
So how much does it cost to press 100 vinyl records?
At the time of this writing, to press 100 180g vinyl records in single sleeves cost £13.21 per unit. The price change with the different sleeve types (gatefold) and the colour of the vinyl itself. To download the price catalogue, click here.
What's included in each vinyl pressing
Each vinyl pressing includes:
- Full colour print sleeve
- White inner sleeve (disco bag)
- Full colour labels (CMYK 4/0)
- Vinyl pressing
- Mastercut & galvanics for both sides
- Shrink wrapping
- Assembly & boxing
- 5 x test pressing
- Delivery
As a bonus, to each vinyl order we’re adding mastering for vinyl without any extra fee.
Why is vinyl pressing so expensive?
The most significant price factor is supply and demand. There’s very limited number of pressing plants around the world, and the materials used to press vinyl are also scarce.
The price of vinyl pressing consists of a few elements:
- cost of materials to press vinyl
- cost of labour operating machines
- cost of printing parts (sleeves, labels)
- cost of customer service
- price spike due to supply and demand
